busy, busy, busy

: Florence :

Ok... I haven't really posted anything (does anyone even read this? ha ha) because I've been busy with work and last minute purchases for my house and my cousin's arrival next week. I don't know how I'd fit being into school this semester, but this just confirms that God is in control of my life and knows why I didn't manage to go to school this semester. (that's another post some other time).

I'm beyond ecstatic for my cousin's arrival next Tuesday! I haven't seen him in a long time, so the fact that I can have some days off work (for the most part - I will still be working from home for a few hours) and enjoy most of my days getting to know new places I haven't had the chance to go to or have been to before but it's like going for the first time since most of the museums and sight-seeing places change, it's going to be a nice break. Thank God my cousin is giving me a reason to take a well-deserved break! His arrival also solidifies the fact that my trip is coming along smoothly and will be arriving pretty soon! That's also a very exciting part of my life I cannot wait to experience! I believe we're around 50+ days until such trip. :)

Lately I've been having LOST dates with my fellow traveler and we've started to make it a habit of talking about our plans to Italy, Paris, London and Germany right after we finish a quick wrap-up of the LOST episode we just finished watching. We are planning to go trip shopping sometime next week just to make sure we don't miss out on taking the essentials, especially for our red eye flight: a travel pillow, blanket and an eye mask. I got the idea of buying the travel flight kit from another blog. While we are still trying to decide and arrange our itinerary in specific detail, we get more enthusiastic and anxious about the places we'd like to see. I know we have to accomplish this itinerary a.s.a.p so we can take advantage of the time we'll be there.

Among other things happening on this trip is that I will become the godmother of a beautiful girl named Vittoria. She is my cousin's daughter and while taking advantage of my trip, such event will be taking place. I've never been a godmother and being 24, it makes me feel like I'm taking a big responsibility that I'm looking forward to! I have yet to officially meet her, but I've seen many pictures of her and she looks like an absolute sweetheart! I cannot wait to meet her.

so far, not good

Ok... so I haven't exactly kept up with what I said I was going to do this year. It's only been accomplished half way or barely started. In terms of my getting healthy in 09 plan... I started off great and slowly began to decrease in the motivation and work out regimen I had intended to pursue to complete my task. I still work out, but not 5 times a week like I began with. What a disappointment! I've barely worked out once this week and thats because I forced myself to take the dust out of my transfirm stepper and put on one of the FIRM work outs. Although it was only 30 mins of a workout, they surely know how to make every minute of it worthwhile! I surely woke up sore yesterday and kind of happy in knowing it meant I had a good workout. Yesterday was my day off, so I chose to not do much. That included skipping another workout. Today I cannot let myself off the hook and I have to do my aerobics or something. No excuses!

In terms of my eating habits... I've gotten a little bit better. I'm definitely trying to stay off all those no-nos of fast food, extra carbs and unhealthy oils. Yes, I do cheat, but when I do, I don't over indulge. I'm happy to say I'm definitely more aware of what I am eating and trying to still make the healthier choices. One thing I have done is eat more fruit. It satisfies my sweet tooth, but nothing can replace chocolate so I try to at least indulge in having some dark chocolate every now and then. I think if everything is done in moderation, you'll be happy and you'll see results. I definitely just need to step up on my exercise regimen. Exercise doesn't make me too happy to begin with, but once I'm done, it feels good.

Lastly, I did go out and buy some art materials, which made me really happy. However, I have yet to remove the wrapping and make some use of them. I will this week, that's my goal.

Ok, wish me luck in my endevours. I have just a couple months left until my vacation so I want to make an improvement in what I've set out to do for myself.

what a funk

hmmm... I am currently at work just trying to think of what I can do in the next upcoming months. Granted, I have my exciting trip coming up, but I want to do something else. I am hoping to become a great interior designer, but will not be following in the footsteps of auditioning for those famous shows on BRAVO or HGTV. I'm not a camera person. haha. Speaking of which, part of my plan this year is to try something new. I'd rather not say until I'm actually doing it... but we'll see how it goes!

I think I might just take a trip to an art supply store in the next upcoming weeks and just purchase canvas, paint brushes, paint, pencils, charcoal, etc... and just be artsy. I've always loved art and I think that's one of the reasons I like Interior Design. It's a stress reliever! I might just start designing my own rooms, etc and build my own portfolio. Why I hadn't done it before is beyond me.... but I will get to it and hopefully by the end of the year, I have something to show! It'll help me get better in every way :)

Speaking of art... I'm really REALLY excited to go and experience all the different architecture not only in my city, but in Europe! I'll post the places where I'm looking forward to go to next time.

Well, besides being in some funk in regards to what I want to do with my lifeeee... I am glad of the changes that have happened so far.
